Corr Finishes 28th in the Mud at the Moody Mile During Super DIRT Week

(Goshen, NY) October 10, 2012 Sometimes even the best planning takes a back seat to the whims of Mother Nature. Such was the case for Sean Corr and Empire Racing this past weekend as they returned to Syracuse, NY to race on the dirt in the NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI Pro Stock Championship presented by Bacc Off.

After a brief practice on Friday, all Pro Stock practices and time trials were cancelled Saturday due to the rain, forcing qualifying times to be based on a shortened practice Sunday morning. Corr, who made his NASCAR debut at Pocono Raceway in the Camping Word Truck Series in August, was able to qualify Empire Racing’s #8 Trans Group / Trans Tech Bus Pontiac Grand Prix in 11th position. After two cautions and a red flag, the clutch on the #8 broke, relegating Corr to a 28th place finish.

“It is great be back in Syracuse, I would like to thank The Trans Group, Trans Tech Bus, and Excel Motorsports for helping us come out and race this weekend. It is really disappointing to have worked so hard on the car to get ready for Super DIRT Week only to lose the clutch, but as always, it is great to be a part of the event here. Thanks to all the fans who stuck it out through the rain” said Corr after the race.
