Empire Racing, LLC Collecting for Hurricane Sandy Recovery Efforts
(Mooresville, NC) October 31, 2012 In the wake of the devastation left behind by Hurricane Sandy, Empire Racing is collecting supplies to send to the New York Metro area to help with recovery efforts. Empire Racing, which has a shop in Goshen NY that houses its dirt track cars, will be sending a large trailer filled with donated supplies from its Mooresville shop departing on November 8th.
Empire Racing and driver Sean Corr have relationships with many charities in the NY area. They plan to use these ties to distribute the donated supplies to those in need. Some of the items that are being requested include:
Clean clothing
Canned goods
Blankets
Coats/Hats/Gloves
Non perishable food
Personal hygiene items
Baby food/care items
Pet foods
Flashlights/batteries
“Many of our racing family hail from the Northeast, and with the amount of damages that the New York Metro region has suffered, we here at Empire Racing felt it was our duty to do something to help out. We will be accepting donations here at our Mooresville shop, and we can arrange to pick up donations if necessary. Every little bit helps, and we are sure that this community will do all it can to help those in need” explained John Bellesfield, Empire Racing’s Team Manager.
Donations can be dropped off prior to the November 8th trailer departure at the Empire Racing Shop at 304 Performance Road, Mooresville, NC or at the Roush-Yates Performance Parts Store located at 122 Knob Hill Road, Mooresville, NC. Arrangements for pickup of donated items can be made by contacting John Bellesfield at 704.914.7110. For those who would like to help with recovery efforts but are not in the area, donations can be made The Salvation Army to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy by visiting their website at www.salvationarmyusa.org and clicking on the “donate” button.
