Busy Week Leading Up To Homestead for Empire Racing’s Sean Corr

(Goshen, NY) November 13, 2012 The normal pre race preparations have been complicated for Empire Racing’s Sean Corr as he prepares for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season finale Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Corr, who lives near the New York Metro area has been delivering wood and offering help to those hard hit by the dual storms of Sandy and Athena. In between, Corr made the trip to NC to test the newly built Ford F-150 in preparation for Friday night’s race.

“The truck tested really well at Little Rockingham, the crew at Empire Racing have put together a really comfortable truck. It is very responsive. I am really looking forward to getting this truck on the track in Homestead!” said Corr Friday after the return from the test. Sean then returned north to New York with the first of several planned loads of donations for the victims of Sandy and Athena that were collected in a joint effort by Empire Racing and the Roush-Yates Performance Parts store in Mooresville, NC.

Next up for Corr is an appearance at the Championship Taste, benefiting The NASCAR Foundation’s Speediatrics unit at Homestead Hospital on Wednesday. There Sean, along with fellow drivers Kenny Wallace and Johanna Long, will be on the tasting panel to judge the work of area chefs as well as participating in a driver cooking competition with celebrity chef Adrianne Calvo for the fundraising event.

Making its first appearance in racing, the nonprofit organization Warriors In The Workplace will grace the hood of the #82 Ford. “This is a program that we, here at Empire Racing, feel very strongly about” said Team Manager, John Bellesfield. “The Warriors In The Workplace is working to put returning Gulf War II era veterans, who face staggering unemployment rates upon return to civilian life, into contact with veteran friendly companies looking for quality employees. Finding our returning heroes a fulfilling career after their service is the least we can do for them in thanks”.

The mission of Warriors In The Workplace is to help restore, empower, and renew hope for our U.S. Military Veterans as they look to transition from a military career to a rewarding and sustaining career within the civilian sector, based upon the skills they have learned and perfected throughout their tenure in the military. To find out more about this program, please contact John Birmingham, President and Executive Director of Warriors In The Workplace, by phone at 207.694.1808 or by email at jbirmingham@warriorsintheworkplace.org.

Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead Miami Speedway will take place at 8pm EST and will be televised live on SPEED TV and broadcast live on MRN Radio and SiriusXM Channel 90.
