Empire Racing Sends Thanks to Community for Sandy Donations

(Mooresville, NC) December 20, 2012 Empire Racing and driver Sean Corr would like to send out thanks for all those who donated for Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. Three loads of donations were collected at the Empire Racing shop and Roush-Yates Performance Parts store in Mooresville and delivered to hurricane victims in the New York Metro area.

In fact, the response was overwhelming. As donations continued to arrive and fill the conference room at the shop after the third load was delivered, Team Manager John Bellesfield reached out to the racing community to ensure that all donations would make it north in a timely fashion. To that end, Empire Racing teamed up with the Martin Truexx Jr. Foundation, who had planned to travel north with donations of their own.

“It has been humbling to see how the community came together to help those in need after Hurricane Sandy. We sent up three loads of donations; food and blankets, coats and clothes, and the donations kept coming in. We are so pleased to be able to partner with the Martin Truexx Jr. foundation to make sure that the last of our donations would make it up to NY before the holiday. I would like to thank everyone who donated to the cause, every bit of it was needed by the folks up north” explained John Bellesfield.

For those who would like to help with the continuing recovery efforts, donations can be made to The Salvation Army to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy by visiting their website at www.salvationarmyusa.org and clicking on the “donate” button.
