Long trip for Sean Corr after Mobile
(MOORESVILLE, NC – MAR 11, 2012) Sean Corr has long trip after a strong run at the ARCA Racing Series’ first-ever race at Mobile International Speedway in front of a packed house at the half mile oval.
“The team kept working on the car and making it better throughout the race,” said Corr. “Too many cautions hurt us on track position, but the Roush-Yates power and a great team added up to gaining 13 positions to make it a good race for us with a finish in 14th.
“Long runs took their toll on the tires, but our crew kept us in the hunt all day with fast stops and adjustments to the car that kept making it better. If we had been able to run green flag for the whole last part of the race, the car was working well and we’d have gained even more places,” said Corr.
But before heading to Salem, the Empire Racing team has a long trip ahead of them. Sean, Team Hauler Driver Thomas Daddio, and Team Manager John Bellesfield are leaving Spring Valley, NY for a charity trip to Miami. They are on a mission to deliver three buses heading for Haiti and Honduras. It will be a long 22-hour ride, but in the end it is all about helping people in need.
The next race on the ARCA calendar is another short track, Salem Speedway, which started its long history in 1947 and has hosted of the best racers in America since that opening race on the high banked, .555 mile oval.
“We’re looking forward to taking the same car to Salem. We had a good run there last year, and I’m looking forward to going back,” says Corr. “The track’s heritage and layout make it one of the great tracks for racers and fans.”
